“Look, I have given you power” …
Luke 10: 17-24
You know, at times we do some things and we feel proud or very satisfied with what was done. In fact, the euphoria we feel is magnified because we know it was the Lord who chose to reveal the will of His Father to us ordinary people: the ‘last, the least, the lost.’
Do we remember to thank God for choosing and empowering us to serve?
We may not be called to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, but we are called to be light in someone’s darkness, to help a neighbour or someone with their cross, to be kind and to generally reflect the love of God in this world.
Lord, help us to do what is pleasing to you even when faced with challenges or triumph, and grant us strong faith to believe that it is possible for our names to also be written in heaven. Lord, may we imitate you and rejoice in spirit to say, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth.”
