International Peace Day celebration at Pt Fortin RC

In observance of International Peace Day on September 21, Point Fortin Roman Catholic School joined global efforts to emphasise the vital importance of peace and non-violence. The occasion served as an opportunity to reflect on the power of dialogue in resolving conflict—a practice essential for preserving human dignity, fostering cooperation, and building a stronger community.

Throughout the day, teachers and students actively embodied the spirit of peace through inspirational songs and collaborative craft activities. These creative displays beautifully demonstrated unity, expression, and togetherness.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our entire staff, a meaningful platform was created to showcase our students’ talents while reinforcing our personal theme: Peace Begins with Me.

Recognising that lasting peace starts within the individual, our initiative aligns closely with this year’s international theme: Peace for Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday. True peace extends far beyond a single observance; it demands ongoing effort, resilience, patience, tolerance, and mutual understanding—challenges that Point Fortin RC proudly embraces.

Guided by Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God,” our school community remains committed to acting as peacemakers in all that we do. — Dixie-Ann Creese-Lee, Principal Primary (performing duties)
