A confraternity for Adoration

By Fr Jesse Maingot OP

I recently held a retreat for members of our Archdiocesan confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Curepe. One of the fruits of our Eucharistic Congress in 2025 was the birth of Eucharistia Gloria, a confraternity in our Archdiocese dedicated to apostolate and mission that is Eucharistic focused. Since the Congress, a beautiful community of brothers and sisters have emerged from across the Archdiocese.

Brief description of the confraternity

Eucharistia Gloria is a confraternity of brothers and sisters adoring our Eucharistic Lord overflowing in mission and good works. The confraternity embraces God’s call to frequent participation in Holy Mass and weekly Eucharistic Adoration. We are witnesses to the truth that the Risen Lord has chosen a way to still abide in His flesh amidst His people.

Members seek to strive for ongoing spiritual formation, mission, and charitable works. The confraternity focuses on spreading Eucharistic devotion. Its works engage both the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. This Apostolate is organised, maintained, and developed by lay people with the assistance of the clergy.

Our mission

The mission of Eucharistia Gloria is three-fold. Firstly, to build up a spiritual army of Eucharistic adorers throughout our Archdiocese who are serious about growing in a community focused on Eucharistic spirituality and ongoing spiritual formation.

Secondly, the confraternity aims to help put our Eucharistic Lord at the centre of the culture and practice of all parishes and ecclesial communities of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain. The mission is to establish, maintain and develop viable weekly Eucharistic Adoration, in conformity with the teaching of the Church and in full obedience to the Archbishop and priests, for the upbuilding and renewal of parishes and ecclesial communities.

Thirdly, to be committed to the Catholic preferential option for the poor and charitable works in whatever way the Lord invites each member.

I will share in another article more info about the charism and spirituality of the confraternity. I encourage you to visit our website if you feel called to be a member: eucharistiagloria.org  There, you can register for emails with upcoming events and notifications.
