Everyone is invited to contribute to the building up of the kingdom of God.
Luke 8: 1 – 3
In today’s gospel we hear that a group of women accompanied Jesus and the disciples, offering their support and resources for the mission of proclaiming the Kingdom of God. These women may not have stood in the spotlight, but their generosity and commitment were essential. They provided for Jesus and the disciples, showing that everyone is invited to contribute to the building of the kingdom of God.
The women’s example encourages each person in the community. Every baptised person has a place and a role in the kingdom of God. Ministry is not a matter of specialised work and individuals. It is the business of everyone.
Today everyone must be willing to participate and support the work of establishing and maintaining the kingdom of God. Like the women in the gospel, we all must do our part. Through our help, Christ continues to bring healing and hope to the world. Our simple acts of kindness, generosity, and service can become powerful signs of God’s love and presence among us.
