Sunday September 13th: Fly the flag of Freedom

Feel the freedom to forgive your brother from your heart

Matthew 18:21-35

The flag flew high with strength and determination,
Like a ship, escaping the doldrums; with wind in its sails.
The red, white, and black fluttered brave and free;
Chanting: ‘We who have received much life, should never let death meet us thinking that we die.’

We who have been absolved for all our ingratitude,
After receiving so many gifts and blessings,
Should we not, now forgive our brother if he wrongs us.

Keep the flag unfurled; don’t let no Colonial power take over you …… again.
Unforgiveness is like foreign control of all your resources.

I saw the soldier struggling to loose the knot before mounting the flag.
Every morning the knot grew tighter.
One morning the flag get stuck at half-mast.
Chanting: ‘If you don’t forgive your brother; you kill your soul’
Your personal flag has ceased fluttering. Your soul is dying.
The Colonial power of unforgiveness has taken root.

Slowly, ever so slowly, unforgiveness tows you out to sea like a rip-current.
Call the lifeguard. No, no, no, call a grief-doula, she understands the pain.
