‘There is no sound tree that produces rotten fruit. ‘
Luke 6: 43-49
We go to Mass and listen to the words of Jesus in the gospel. Does the teaching touch our hearts?
After hearing the gospel, do we still spread gossip and lack consideration for others or show a lack of love, especially to the marginalised in our congregation or neighbourhood?
We learn from Jesus’s words in the passage that if we listen to his words and do not act on them, we are like the man who built his house on sandy ground, and it will collapse; whereas if we act on his words, we will be like the man who built his house on solid rock and has a good foundation.
We know people who have built their house on solid rock by the way they interact with others. They are kind and considerate.
Lord, help me to always listen to your words and act on them.
