Birth of Our Blessed Virgin Mary

Thank God Joseph obeyed

Matthew 1: 1-16, 18-23

God promised a Saviour from the House of David and He delivered, generations later, but he delivered, Jesus. It is comforting to know that God will always keep His promises. We just have to be patient.

I can only imagine how confused Joseph was when he found out Mary was pregnant. God in His goodness sent an angel to reassure Joseph. Thank God Joseph obeyed.

I pray that I would always be willing to listen to God, and follow His direction, like Joseph did.

Joseph makes us see that if we listen to God and do what He says we can become part of God’s plan for salvation. We got a saviour, because of Joseph’s yes.

The child was named Immanuel which loosely means – God is with us, in part because of Joseph’s yes.

We can take comfort in knowing God Our Saviour is always with us, because of Joseph’s yes.
