“So, you also must be ready”
Matthew 24:42-51
We never know the exact questions that will be on the test, so we have to cover every topic thoroughly.
True education—just like spiritual readiness—isn’t about short-term performance. It’s about knowledge, lifelong skills, and ongoing formation. The wicked servant assumes, “My master is delayed,” and uses the absence as license to abuse fellow servants and indulge in self-gratification with drunkards. The internal state of his heart is exposed by how he treats others when he thinks no one is watching. The judgment is severe—God is always watching!
What is our trajectory? When the master returns unexpectedly and finds the servant doing his job, he rewards him by placing him in charge of all his possessions. The exact hour of the Lord’s return is intentionally unrevealed. God did not create us for temporary distractions and hollow camaraderie, but for eternal purpose and authentic communion with Him. True peace is found not in numbing the tension at the bar, but in living faithfully for the lasting life He designed us to inherit.
