Saturday August 1st: Yuh Know What Yuh Do!

 ‘This is John the Baptist; he has been raised from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.’

Matthew 14: 1-2

Any time Tanty Beulah see anybody acting jumpy or nervous she used to laugh and say is because “Yuh know what yuh do!”

That was like Herod. The moment he heard about Jesus, his mind went straight to John the Baptist. Why? Because Herod knew what he had done. He had tried to silence God’s messenger, but he could not silence his own conscience.

The truth is that guilt can make us make bad choices. It clouds our judgement, makes us defensive, suspicious, and sometimes causes us to hurt the very people who have done us no wrong.

The good news is that God never leaves us trapped in guilt. He invites us to bring our sins to Him, not to condemn us, but to forgive and restore us. So, if your heart is uneasy today, don’t cover it up. Bring it to Christ. Because yes, yuh know what yuh do and thanks be to God, He knows too, and still offers His mercy.
