“Lord if you had been here” …
John 11:19-27
Have you ever prayed for a loved one constantly and yet destruction still found a way to sneak in? And you wondered how? How can this happen?
I love God, I do the right things, I fast, I give alms, I invest the time fervently in prayer and yet such devastation, turmoil, hurt, loss, pain, and brokenness.
Life shattering experiences, can they be put back together? Can we ever get through these crises, betrayals, and disappointments? How many times do we too say to the Lord, “Lord if you had been here”?
Lord Jesus, fill my heart today with your presence, with your peace that surpasses all understanding, so that I will be reminded that you are with me and that I am not alone. Lord as I surrender to your will, I pray, let your courage and trust comfort me and may I not be discouraged but come out to meet you so that I shall live. Amen.
