Arima parish hall renamed after Msgr Christian Pereira

The El Patio Hall at Santa Rosa RC Church, Arima has been renamed the Msgr Christian Pereira Parish Hall in recognition of his service as Parish Priest of Arima from 2002 to 2011.

The unveiling took place after last Sunday’s Mass to celebrate golden priestly jubilarians Bishop Emeritus Clyde Harvey and Msgr Pereira.

Arima Member of Parliament Pennelope Beckles-Robinson was among the invited guests at the Mass. Parishioners of the Santa Rosa/Malabar Cluster were joined by faithful from the Maloney community where Bishop Harvey once served as parish priest.

Frs Robert Christo and Kwesi Alleyne concelebrated with the senior clerics, while Deacon Joachim Hernandez assisted and proclaimed the Gospel. Before the dismissal, Fr Christo made the announcement of the renaming of the parish hall, citing the number of projects Msgr Pereira was responsible for in the parish including the construction of the Msgr Urban Peschier Hall, the refurbishing of the presbytery, the retrofitting of the adoration chapel, and the construction of El Patio.
