Thursday July 16th: Not alone

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart.”

Matthew 11: 28-30

A yoke is designed to be shared. The invitation is not to struggle alone but to be yoked with Jesus, learning his gentleness and humility of heart.
It is an easier yoke, trusting that the Lord who calls us is also the Lord who sustains us. His yoke is not lighter because life becomes easier, but because we no longer carry it alone.
Whether you are in corporate life, an independent small businessperson, in the civil service or in full-time ministry – Jesus is inviting each of us to take His yoke with us, let Him share in pulling our burdens. Because yoked to Him, all our burdens become lighter.
