Matthew 11: 25-27
God’s Word is powerful because it carries authority, truth, and transforming power. God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. God’s Word is a precious pearl to be kept and treasured. These are only glimpses into what God’s Word is and it pierces our hearts and minds, but only if we receive it with humility.
This is indeed why Jesus thanks His heavenly Father for allowing His Word to be revealed to ‘mere children’ – namely. the humble, the lowly and the spiritually teachable, and hiding it from ‘the intelligent and the clever’ – that is, the self-proclaimed wise – those who think that they already know it all.
May we always be eager to hear God’s Word and open our hearts to accept God’s Word humbly. In this way, we shall receive the hidden truths of His immense Love.
