Jesus wants us to help Him do the Father’s work.
Matthew 10: 1-7
This Gospel, at first glance, looks like there is nothing to write about. I had to read it over and over again to find a message.
This is where Ignatian Imaginative Prayer came to the rescue. Imagine that we were the disciples and Jesus was commissioning us to go out and do His bidding. Jesus wants us to help Him, do the Father’s work!
Can I do what Jesus asks? It is scary! Then I realize Jesus chose people from every walk of life, ordinary people. I read this so many times I am sure I can recite it from memory.
I eventually prayed to be able to bring Jesus’ message to people I know, who have stopped going to Mass. This is the message I think Jesus wants me to get. I am a coward, so I will start with my family members.
