“Now, which of these is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
Matthew 9:1-8
I would have been satisfied with hearing even less! Perhaps just a look or a touch from Jesus would have been sufficient for one to be healed once you have faith and you believe.
When you are handicapped or going through some challenge and you cry out in faith, the best words you long to hear are: Your sins are forgiven or arise and walk, talk, jump, leap, sing, tell others, witness to the miracle that was experienced.
Jesus I am so grateful for the ‘they’ (the family members, friends, priests, laypersons, kind strangers, etc.) that look out for me and carry me into your presence.
Lord, please increase our faith so we too can recognize you as the Son of God. Please also continue to allow us to hear you say: “… be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven.”
