Sacred Heart of Jesus. Solemnity.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened.”
Matthew 11: 25 – 30
On this Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, the gospel reveals the heart of Jesus in a deeply personal way. He turns to the Father in gratitude, not for the powerful or the learned, but for the “little ones”, those open, humble, and receptive. The Sacred Heart is not cold or hateful; it is gentle and welcoming.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,” Jesus says. These are not empty words. They flow from a heart that understands human struggle, fatigue, and sorrow. His invitation is not to escape life, but to find rest in Him. His yoke is easy, not because life becomes effortless, but because He carries it with us.
The Sacred Heart is the symbol of this love: patient, compassionate, and faithful. It reminds us that God does not stand far off. Instead, he draws near, offering mercy and rest.
Today, we are invited to trust, to bring our burdens to Christ, and to learn from him how to live with humility, gentleness, and peace.
