God@Work 2026 will be a transformative experience

The Catholic News is again hosting the God@Work Business Conference, ‘Fuelled by Faith and Hope: Fired up for Success!’ on Saturday, June 27 from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Cascadia Hotel in St Ann’s.

The inaugural event held last year was very successful with over 100 attendees, who fully engaged with presenters and built community by interacting with each other.
Attendees enjoyed all aspects of the day and shared how impactful the experience was, as they felt motivated to incorporate their spiritual values and beliefs in their workplace. The positive energy throughout the day was a testament of the Holy Spirit’s presence.

This year’s workshop aims to again be spirit-filled to inspire and transform. We continue to focus on fulfilling our main objective of encouraging attendees to integrate their faith in their work, whether they are employees, business owners, or now entering the workplace.

This is being exemplified by starting the business conference with an opening Mass to be celebrated by Fr Jesse Maingot OP. We are also including Confession, which was an important aspect last year, and Eucharistic Adoration from lunchtime to mid-afternoon. The latter is a new aspect to the conference and reinforces how God is present with us in all environments.

We expect the Holy Spirit’s presence again, opening hearts and minds to receive the information, being shared by presenters and attendees.

Our first presenter, David Isidore, will focus on the Theology of Work, highlighting why our work matters to God, and the Christian values we need to practise to manifest Him in our work.

This will be followed by a very interactive panel discussion focusing on leadership. It will highlight the significance of how our self-leadership will impact on our ability to lead others. Our dynamic panellists will also explore the important concept that we are all leaders, and leadership is not determined by rank, title, or position. They will enrich the discussion by sharing their real-life stories and examples to help attendees on their journey.

We have four esteemed panellists from the corporate sector, small business and Religious life, and our moderator, Darren Mohammed, who will lead the session.

After lunch, the interactive breakout segments include relevant, diverse topics presented by expert facilitators. There are two major focus areas: Self-Empowering and Wellness Priorities segments, with attendees choosing one session per segment.

Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI), Money Management and Spiritual Emotional Intelligence will be covered in the Self-Empowering segment. These topics aim at heightening attendees’ effectiveness, given their importance in today’s environment.

For the Wellness Priorities segment, we explore topics on self-care and fulfilment. For the first time, we have a special women’s only session focusing on Balance and Burnout for Women, as this is a critical issue.

The other two sessions include key insights to help you (1) become your best through your self-awareness, communication, and conflict management approach, and (2) understand the critical issue of Spiritual Warfare. The latter aims to highlight how to guard against becoming involved in Spiritual Warfare, and how to protect yourself against it.

Our final session will be a centring experience based on Christian Meditation led by Sandee Bengochea.

The God@Work Business Conference provides a holistic experience for attendees as it is filled with various activities.
