Trinity Sunday
“For this is how God loved the world He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.”
John 3:16-18
God is God and beside him there is no other. This love that God has for us, sinful humanity, is unfathomable, inexplicable, profound. He gave his only Son to save us. How then do we respond to this great love? Each individual will respond to this LOVE to the extent we give ourselves permission.
Some of us doubt this great love as we contemplate our own difficult life experiences, the condition of the world in which we live, or we choose to not believe that there is a God. Others embrace it inspite of the difficult circumstances that seem to say that God’s love is not real.
We can therefore testify to God’s love when we experience how it touched and transformed our lives, literally removing us from the broad road to destruction and placing us on the narrow road leading to eternal life. Even when we refuse to accept God’s love it has been offered to us.
He is waiting for us to accept and live in his love here on earth and in eternity.
