Jesus invites us to begin again, to reaffirm our love, and to continue the mission entrusted to us.
John 21: 15 – 19
In today’s gospel, we witness a tender moment of restoration. Peter, who had denied Jesus three times, now stands before the risen Lord. Jesus does not condemn him; instead, He asks three times, “Do you love me?” With each response, Peter is given a mission: “Feed my sheep.” Where there was failure, Jesus creates a path for renewal.
This gospel reminds us that falling is not the end of our story. Like Peter, we may stumble, deny, or turn away from Jesus in moments of weakness. Yet Christ meets us not with rejection or reprimand, but with mercy. He invites us to begin again, to reaffirm our love, and to continue the mission entrusted to us.
True recovery is not just about being forgiven; it is about being restored with purpose. Jesus entrusts Peter with responsibility, showing that grace does not erase our past but transforms it.
May we take courage in our failures, trusting that Christ always calls us back, lifts us up, and sends us forward in love.
