Monday May 11th: Testify to the Truth

We overcome the devil and the world by the word of our testimony…

John 15:26-16:4

We all love a good testimony especially one that speaks to our heart. It gives us hope and builds our faith as we no longer feel alone or defeated. Sometimes the testimony is so similar to our own that we listen in awe that someone else has experienced what we are at that moment.

Jesus knew what hardships we would face in this world, that, without supernatural grace given through the Holy Spirit, we would not be able to withstand the storms of this life or the onslaught of the evil one. We overcome the devil and the world by the word of our testimony.

He left us clear instructions on how to obtain victory: testify to the truth of who Jesus is and his saving power. Our testimonies are sonic booms that push back the darkness, clearing the way for the light of the Holy Spirit.

As we approach Pentecost, we say: “Come Holy Spirit! Renew the face of the earth by renewing our hearts and minds.” Amen.
