Caribbean bishops’ message to Pope: we are a Church of hope

Wednesday May 6th: Remain in me, as I in you

“Make your home in me.”

John 15:1-8

My schedule was full. Can I handle it all?
Make your home in me. I am your source.

More was being asked of me, even as pain took my breath away.
Make your home in me. Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes to make it bear even more. Regular pruning can attract others to me.

The winds grew strong. I became afraid. Would I break off?

Make your home in me. Cut off from me you can do nothing. We are connected.

And so, I made my home in Jesus and He in me and the experience did bear fruit.

“Make your home in me” seems to be a training ground for us to become more like Jesus. With this mutual living, when we ask, we are asking according to the will of God the Father, and we will get what we ask for because: “It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and be my disciples.”

To God be the glory.
