Tuesday April 28th: From Uncertainty to Trust

If all he had done was perform signs and wonders, it should have been enough.

John 10:22-30

Today’s gospel invites us to move from uncertainty to trust. Jesus is not asking us to figure out who he is. He made his identity clear when he said, “The Father and I are one.” The simple reality that his followers can hear his voice should have been enough.

We sometimes desire Jesus to prove himself repeatedly by performing miracles and providing signs, and if all he had done was perform signs and wonders, it should have been enough.

The deeper issue is whether we truly belong to the flock, that is… do we have a relationship with him, listening to him and doing his will.

Are you listening for his voice more than the noise around you? If you are, you can rest in His promise that He and the Father will not let the one who follows be lost; no one can snatch them away.
