‘The wind blows wherever it pleases’
John 3: 7b – 15
Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus, who has problems understanding his figurative language. Jesus tells Nicodemus, “You must be born from above. The wind blows wherever it pleases.”
It happens too in our life we get inspired to do things, sometimes great. We get an idea to choose a career or make in life, a decision that can bring us closer to God or improve our spirituality. We cannot tell where the idea comes from or where it would lead us, but when we follow it, we find that it has been very beneficial to us.
Jesus tells us that this is how it is when you are born in the Spirit. Good ideas that bring us closer to loving our neighbour always come from the Spirit.
Lord, help me to discern when the Spirit is leading me closer to you.
