I pray I can be patient and humble.
Luke 24: 35-48
Jesus appears to the apostles. Can you imagine how you would react? I know I would be incredulous!
Jesus starts by calming the scene. He then invites them to touch Him. I see this as such a sign of respect and humility. It is as if He were saying they should use their own sense of touch to verify that they were not hallucinating.
He had such patience with them. He gave them time to adjust to this new reality.
Jesus ‘love He belly’ as we say in Trinidad. He ate and then explained the Scriptures to them.
There are so many life lessons in this little Gospel passage on how to navigate the world. I pray I can be humble and patient. I also ask God to open my mind to understand the Scriptures and to be a faithful witness.
