Tuesday April 7th: Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

At the tomb with a hummingbird and a butterfly.

John 20:11-18

My gut churned with pain…sorrow… sadness… and longing as I reflected on Mary’s encounter with Jesus at the tomb. These emotions stayed with me as I watered the plants. Suddenly, a hummingbird whirred and ramajayed in front of me. My gaze clung to the hummingbird. I remembered Jesus’s words: Do not cling to me. I have not yet ascended to my father and your father.
GO…TELL…
My gaze turned to the butterfly fluttering by.

My emotions are true for the times when, in darkness, gaze turned away from The Light, I do not live my response to the proclamation: “Jesus Christ is truly risen! Alleluia.”

“He IS risen indeed! Alleluia!”

Risen Lord, continue to call us by name out of the darkness and fear permeating our world today, into the Light of Your transforming victory.

Continue to call us by name into intimate relationship with You, Risen Lord.

Continue to call Your siblings by name.
Transform us to GO, TELL with enduring joy, hope, love, and active faith. Amen.
