“The Son of Man has been glorified.”
Jn 13: 21-33,36-38
We are drawn into a deeply human moment in the life of Jesus. Hurt, inflicted by those who walked closely with Him, reveals not defeat, but the contrast between divine love and human weakness. In God’s plan hurt brings glory.
Jesus is glorified because he remains faithful. Faithfulness is not about what we say, but what we do when tested. Peter spoke confidently but faltered under pressure. Judas left… and was consumed by the darkness of betrayal.
We learn our weakness does not cancel God’s self-giving love. Peter’s good intention was not enough, but it did not disqualify him. It deepened His dependence on God.
Judas’ departure symbolized the darkness of spiritual separation. But in that unfolding betrayal Jesus spoke of His glorification. We see darkness and glory co-existing.
Jesus knows us completely and loves us anyway. Failure is not the end, and defeat becomes part of our redemption story.
Let us pray.
Lord, You see our weakness.
Help us to remain faithful in trials,
to rise when we fall and to love as You love.
Amen.
