Shivers ricochet
From head, through heart
And gut

Then head,
Hands and feet
Respond to an ancient beat
Druh drum

This drum
Humming low
Twists
Fixes
These hum drum
Vibrations

The vibrations
Erupt and then
Disrupt walls
Hardened by hurt
Silenced
And agonies
Ignored

Years
Of muzzled cries
Years
of Tears sealed
and sighs heaved
Behind locked doors
Roll into one
Naked now

And Now
Through key holes
They flow
As libations
Poured
For ancestral spirits
Which once
Upon a time
Walked
And walking
Marched
And marching
Matched
The sound
That earthed
The mightiest
Fortress

Once
Shook
Bare
Shook
Barren
Lying
Stilled
Fallowed…

Following
That Now
Now
Called again
This fecund
Phoenix
Arises

And
Arising
Soars
Gliding
Beyond
Clouds reign
Embracing
Absorbing
All
The rain
All
The sun
All

Then
Slowly
Ever so slowly
Shedding
De-shrouding
To produce fruit
In the Son’s reign
He lets go…
And God
What freedom comes!
