“Do you want to be well?”
John 5:1-16
In today’s Gospel, Jesus went to the man, the man did not go to Jesus. At this pool, it was said that an angel passed and stirred the water. The first person to get into the water when it was stirred will be cured. This man had no one to rush him to the water. Jesus noticed him and offered him a cure.
Jesus always notices our vulnerability and reaches out to us. He meets us where we are. He never forces Himself on us but asks us, “Do you want to be well?” It is up to us to trust Him and answer “Yes.” Tell Him your story.
Let us pray. Lord, help us to recognize when you come to us in our vulnerable situations. Allow us to answer “Yes” and to trust you to listen to our story. Lord have mercy. Amen.
