In recent days, I had the honour of supporting a young entrepreneur who is working on building an innovative business model that is catering to youth empowerment.
While on the surface it looks attractive, there are many important pieces that must go together with impeccable time and within specific parameters.
The thing is, sometimes entrepreneurs are so bent on the attainment of a goal, that they might miss the essence of strategy, systems and long-term security.
But the other thing they might miss, without being deliberately carefree, is the alignment of their faith in the process.
This is where the idea and intent of support come in, support not by simply purchasing a product or investing financially, but true unwavering belief that in offering genuinely founded kinship, care-centred advice, an objective ear and some of the experience that’s been attained through the process. This will contribute to a lasting effect of shaping the confidence of the entrepreneur.
In Hebrews 6:10, we are reminded of the value of supporting others and especially of the faithfulness of God’s promises in the duty of supporting, sharing and serving. The real question to continually ask ourselves is are we doing this genuinely, consistently and with a sense of service—without any other reasons or motives?
As I found myself spending time with the entrepreneur, I paid attention to the times when people also made the time for me, and I especially thought of what it means when successful outcomes happen and when the hand of God truly shows up to remind us in our times of seeming helpless or overwhelmed.
In this entire experience, we have both remained diligently faithful even if we have to make major decisions and again, in every instance, it has been so deeply important to always wait, hope and bear witness together.
