“… the water that I shall give will become a spring of water within, welling up for eternal life.”
John 4:5-42
Yuh ever meet up somebody, UN-EXPECTEDLY.
Like two people on two different life journeys.
And in a narrow corridor, their eyes make four;
And just so, for a brief moment; bare their souls to each other.
Both came, to get a little rest, by Jacob’s well.
They wanted to quench their thirst;
And yuh know,
All thirsts run deep;
Not just for water.
Holy man meet-up jamette woman. It coulda go any-which-way; but it didn’t.
All judgement fell away, leaving holy-man and holy-woman.
Go and confess; not what yuh did and didn’t do; but what yuh coulda and shoulda do.
All dem prejudices we learn from birth; that cut both sides like razor-grass.
Let them sink. Let them sink.
Invisible threads come and knot by Jacob’s well,
Binding hearts across social and cultural divide.
One and one make three.
And I AM; and I AM HOLY; because they met and quench MY thirst.
Every encounter is a miracle waiting to happen
An opportunity to experience the divine in WE
Without the awareness of a thirst, there is no WINE OF ASTONISHMENT.
Without encountering the other, there is no COMMUNION.
