Faith, accountability and changing seasons

Nicole Joseph Chin

As entrepreneurs become more in tune with the mission of serving through the lens of faith, there are tests that constantly show up. Sometimes these tests come as lessons, sometimes reminders and other times as fresh and new awakenings to trust and hold on to the hem of Jesus’ garment.

How else can we describe the moments when we have so many things before us, yet we see the hand of God and the abundance of His unconditional love and mercy?

Sometimes, we attribute these moments to faith and sometimes we can sum it up to outright faithfulness. His faithfulness intertwined with our unwavering belief.

When we are called to serve, we already know that there is an innate and unnamed level of accountability that is both established and essential to the tenets of faithfulness. But keeping in tune with the ways we are called to serve, the ways we lend our presence and the ways in which we show up are the ultimate expression of being in a state of higher belief.

And we are reminded in Ecclesiastes 3:11 about the hidden beauty, bounty and breakthrough that sometimes awaits us, if only we understand the hand of God.

As entrepreneurs become more confident and conscious, there is a beautiful shift that comes into the equation, and it holds us steadily at the shift of any season.

And paying attention to shifts make for remarkable outcomes as even the smallest shift reveals spiritual maturity and our openness to relying on God even in more turbulent seasons.

Dear Entrepreneur,

Have you ever felt lost, abandoned and helpless whilst labouring in the vineyard?

A feeling of unfulfillment or uncertainty?

But then, have you also felt when an amazing shift happened? A shift that heralds ease, peace, comfort?

There’s an even and balancing relief that shows up when faith meets accountability and purpose meets inspiration.

Seasons that feel uncertain, suddenly shift to a resolve of joy and peace.

Seasons that feel overwhelming, suddenly shift to a sense of confidence.

Seasons that feel lost and never to be regained, suddenly show us a deeper sense of understanding.

And when this happens often enough, we get to appreciate that the hand of God was already deeply involved in our matters of learning, leading and gathering the evidence that God only wants great things for us.

The next time a moment that feels uncomfortable unfolds, step back and deeply examine the moment you felt that hand of God at work in your affairs.

It might be a subtle change or a very bold and uncomfortable one. But the biggest message is how well we are prepared for navigating the changing seasons.
