“Come away… and rest a while.”
Mark 6:30-34
Carnival season does have a way of making we feel like we running on glitter and vibes… until we not. The apostles come back to Jesus with stories and tired bones, and He doesn’t shame them for needing a breather. He invites them to step aside—like finding a calm patch of Savannah grass before the music start again.
But the crowd follows, hungry for hope. And Jesus, even with fatigue in the air, meets them with compassion—because love isn’t cancelled when you’re drained. Sometimes the most holy “jump up” is choosing gentleness: a kind word, a patient pause, a prayer whispered between errands.
“Come away… and rest a while.”
Lord, teach me to rest with You—and to see Your people with Your eyes, even when I’m running low.
