Thursday February 5th: Called…Sent…Empowered

“Then he summoned the twelve and began to send them out in pairs, giving them authority over unclean spirits.” 

Mark 6:7-13

The mission of every baptized Christian is the spreading of the Gospel, the good news of salvation to all. Whatever our state in life, our duty is to discover what this means for each of us. As the Holy Spirit continues to write His story, what is my role in salvation history?

Called: Baptism confers the gift of heavenly royalty; we are now sons and daughters of a benevolent Father and our gift back to Him is our yes.

Sent: Jesus was clear when He said, “As the Father send me so I am sending you.” We are sent like “sheep among wolves” to be light bearers by living the Gospel.

Empowered: As we move under the spiritual canopy of the Trinity, His power and majesty will manifest in those who live sacramental lives. By fulfilling our divine appointment, others will be set free.

Arise! Wherever our feet trod, may the peace of Christ and the blessing of the Father remain. Amen
