Can I see God in the vagrant?
Mark 6: 1-6
This Gospel is the perfect story to explain Environmental Psychology and Social Psychology. Our behaviour is based on our situation and the people with whom we surround ourselves.
Here is God, in the person of Jesus Christ, the Miracle Worker Himself could work no miracle there. ‘Who is we then?’ as we say in Trinidad and Tobago?
Were these people jealous of him? Were they elitists? Did they think God could not work through a carpenter?
What can we learn from this Gospel? How can this Gospel shape us and our behaviour? We must respect all people. St. Ignatius asks us to see God everywhere and in all things? Can I see God in the vagrant?
My prayer is: Heavenly Father, please let me have an open heart and mind. May I see You in every person I meet and be aware of the lesson You want me to learn from each encounter.
