Archdiocese of Port of Spain launches EndCash in parishes

From The Diocesan Curia – The Chancery
The Archdiocese of Port of Spain has launched a pilot project introducing EndCash, a secure digital payment option that allows faithful to make parish contributions using their mobile phones.

This initiative forms part of the Archdiocese’s ongoing efforts to make stewardship safer, easier, and more accessible while supporting parishes in their pastoral and administrative work.

EndCash is a digital wallet developed by Republic Bank that facilitates cashless transactions in a secure banking environment. Through this system, parishioners can make contributions by scanning a QR code displayed in their parish, without the need to handle cash or cheques.

Each parish participating in the pilot has its own unique QR code. When a parishioner scans the QR code found in their church, the contribution is sent directly to that parish’s EndCash wallet and bank account.

The six parishes selected to participate in the pilot are:
• St Joseph, St Joseph
• St Mary’s, St James
• St Finbar’s, Diego Martin
• Our Lady of Perpetual Help, San Fernando
• Santa Rosa, Arima
• St Joseph, Scarborough, Tobago

Posters and brochures will be displayed in these parishes to guide parishioners through the simple steps of downloading the EndCash app, setting up a wallet, and scanning the parish QR code to contribute.
As with all financial matters in the Church, security and trust are paramount. Parishioners are assured that EndCash operates within a secure banking framework, with transactions encrypted and personal information protected. The use of EndCash is intended solely as a practical tool to assist parishes and parishioners and does not represent a promotion or endorsement of any financial institution.

The Archdiocese encourages parishioners in the pilot parishes to take time to familiarise themselves with the platform. Beginning early will help ensure wider comfort and participation, especially in preparation for upcoming major archdiocesan collections, including support for seminarians and the Clergy Collection during the Easter season.

Stewardship is a shared responsibility, and the Church continues to adapt responsibly to meet the needs of the faithful in an increasingly digital world. Through this pilot project, the Archdiocese hopes to strengthen parish giving while making contributions safer, more convenient, and better aligned with the realities of modern life.
Further updates will be shared as the pilot progresses and as plans are made for wider implementation across the Archdiocese.
