Tuesday February 3rd: Jesus Heals

“So, Jesus went with him.”

Mark 5:21-43

In today’s Gospel Mark shares two different healing experiences involving Jesus: Jairus pleading for Him to come and place His hand on his daughter, and the woman suffering for some years with the issue of blood, eager just to touch His garment. What both had in common was the faith that Jesus will heal, and this He did. But we also observe the reaction of the crowd and the attitude of the disciples. Question: Which character are you?

The story about Jairus’s daughter appears more dramatic, because by all appearances she was dead. When Jesus enquires, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” They laughed at Him.

On reflection, no matter what the situation is, Jesus will intervene We must, however, believe and allow the process. We must let Jesus come with us as he did with Jairus. No situation is too much for Him to handle if we TRUST and BELIEVE.

Today, let us pray that Jesus will come with us and all the issues in our lives that need healing will be done by His will.
