The Presentation in the Temple
Who are you? Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Simeon, Anna?
Luke 2: 22-40
Remember a time when you were like Simeon? The Holy Spirit was upon you, and you were waiting in hope for an event that would change your life and the lives of others forever. Then suddenly, this long-awaited event was upon you, and you blessed God, uttering words that are now, as they say, history.
And when were you like Anna? Remember the countless novenas and days dedicated to prayer and fasting. Hours in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Faithful and devoted, you worshipped and adored. You spoke about Jesus to all who were zealously seeking Him.
We too, like Mary and Joseph, after fulfilling our obligations to the Lord, whether in Church or other Sacredworkspaces, return to our homes bringing with us the gifts of our encounter with The Divine.
May this Child, recently born in us, with Mary as our Mother, and Joseph as our Protector, grow and become strong, filled with wisdom. May the favour of God rest upon us. Amen.
