We are all called to this kind of faith: firm in conviction, yet creative in love.
Mark 2: 1 – 12
In today’s gospel we read of a faith that is not merely an interior conviction, but a faith that is persistent and creative. The friends of the paralytic refuse to accept obstacles as final. When the doorway is blocked, they do not turn back or wait for a better moment. They imagine another way. Their faith adapts, risks misunderstanding, and even damages property to reach Jesus. This is not recklessness; it is confidence that Christ is worth the effort.
Such faith challenges our own habits. We often abandon prayer when answers are delayed, or charity when it becomes inconvenient. We may rely solely on familiar routines and lose the courage to imagine new paths to bring people to Christ. Persistent faith keeps knocking; creative faith finds another door when one is closed.
We are all called to this kind of faith: firm in conviction, yet creative in love. When faith endures and dares to act, it creates space for grace to break through barriers we thought were solid and immovable.
