As Our Lady of Guadalupe Co-Cathedral in Belmopan joyfully celebrated its 40th anniversary, parishioners were reminded of the sacred call to give their best.
The Co-Cathedral was consecrated on Christmas Eve, 1985, by Bishop Osmond Peter Martin, together with former priests Msgr Facundo Castillo and Fr Wil Charleville SJ, and the priest at that time, Fr Lazarus Augustine. āOver these forty years, our parish community has grown and changed in many ways, always striving to glorify God through our worship and our works,ā said a report from The Christian Herald.
The diocesan monthly said the parish community inaugurated and blessed their new choir loft December 12, Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe,Ā āa wonderful accomplishment made possible by the generosity and hard work of our parishioners and friends who love our church and wish to beautify it for Godās gloryā.
The churchās resident priests, Frs Mateo Salam and Shajir Pech, continue to guide the faithful with ādedication and faith as we move forward with many projects, including the completion of our parish rectory.ā The parish invited everyone to participateāwhether through prayer, time, talent, or treasureāin continuing to make the Co-Cathedral a place of beauty, welcome and holiness.
