Monday December 22nd: A posture of humility and trust

Let us find room in our lives to magnify God.

Luke 1: 46-56

In today’s gospel we witness our Blessed Mother’s heart overflowing with awe as she recognizes the Father’s hand moving through her humble life. Her worship reminds us that God often chooses the humble and the ordinary to reveal his extraordinary grace.

Mary celebrated a God who remembers, who lifts us, and who keeps his promises from generation to generation. This very moment becomes the bridge between what God has done in the past and what he is about to do in the world through Jesus.

As we meditate on the words of Mary’s Magnificat we are invited into the same posture of humility and trust. Like our blessed Mother, may our souls learn to rejoice not because everything is perfect but because our Father is good, faithful and is actively working in ways we may not fully see yet. Let us find room in our lives to magnify God, especially when we don’t have all the answers.
