He works quietly, faithfully, and perfectly in His time.
Luke1:5 – 25
In today’s gospel, we meet Zechariah and Elizabeth, an elderly couple who have longed for a child and whose hope seemed to have faded. Yet, in God’s time, the impossible happens: an angel announces that they will bear a son, John, who will prepare the way for the Lord. Zechariah struggles to believe, and his doubt leaves him silent. But even in his silence, God’s promise continues to unfold.
This story reminds us that Advent is a season of waiting, sometimes in silence, often in uncertainty, but always with trust that God’s plan is greater than our own. Like Zechariah, we may feel that our prayers go unanswered or that God delays too long. Yet God is never absent; He works quietly, faithfully, and perfectly in His time.
As we prepare for Christ’s coming, we are invited to rekindle hope and to listen in the silence of our hearts. There, we discover that God’s word is still being fulfilled, bringing life, joy, and new beginnings where we least expect them.
