” Come to me … and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-30
If ever we feel weary, overwhelmed, anxious, fearful, troubled, in short – unsettled in any way, a deep reflection on these words of Jesus will surely bring us comfort, courage and consolation. Jesus is calling us to rest in Him. What other invitation do we need?
Jesus is calling all of us, not just this or that person, to come to Him – in our anxieties, in our sorrows, even in our sins; and when we do, He promises us that our souls and spirit will find rest in Him. Where else should we go? What more do we want?
Perhaps today you are struggling with worry, distress, and anxiety. If this is you, know that you can find rest in the tender heart of Jesus. Trust in His Divine Love. Entrust everything to Him – your sinfulness; all your worries and tensions that unsettle your heart; poor past decisions in life that now plague you.
Let go of them, come to Jesus and you will find Peace.
