We are called to follow the voice of the Lord, trusting that His coming brings healing and renewal.
Matthew 9: 27 – 31
As Jesus passes by, two blind men cry out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” Their plea is both a confession of faith and a cry of hope. In this encounter, we see the heart of Advent: longing for light in the midst of darkness. The blind men could not yet see Jesus, but they trusted that He could see them and open their eyes.
Advent invites us to the same faith-filled waiting. We, too, live in a world shadowed by fear, uncertainty, and distraction. Yet like the blind men, we are called to follow the voice of the Lord, trusting that His coming brings healing and renewal.
When Jesus asks, “Do you believe that I can do this?” He speaks to each of us. Advent faith means answering “Yes, Lord,” even when we do not yet see clearly. As we prepare for His coming, may our hearts be opened, our sight restored, and our lives become a testimony to the mercy of the God who draws near.
