Saturday November 29th: Reflect and prepare

“Watch Yourselves! Stay awake, praying at all times…”

Luke 21: 34-36

These teachings echo throughout the Bible.

“If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, not telling you what hour to expect me.” (Rev. 3:3). Our faith, our watchfulness and prayerfulness, our confidence in Christ’s second coming will contribute to our righteousness.

The Gospel urges to navigate through life’s distractions by being vigilant in prayer…the key to survival against life’s calamities; “Have confidence and not be ashamed before [Jesus] at His coming.” (1 Jn.2:26).

The rumours and signs, precursors of His Advent, are seen in climate crises, new political, social, and intellectual leadership, economic collapse, social insecurity.

But Christians have hope. We can connect with God and be protected. We can: –

• Strengthen our prayer-life for a strong spiritual foundation.
• Intentionally read the Bible for clarity and understanding.
• Build a Community of Truth Seekers by sharing God’s truth.
• Position ourselves correctly in company of the prayerful and watchful.
• Always reflect on our faith and where it’s leading us.

Help me, Lord, to persevere in my tiny seed faith for growth, strength and endurance.
