The Gasparillo RC parish community’s celebration of World Children’s Day (November 20) was a beautiful reminder that the Church is truly alive when all her members—especially her youngest—take their rightful place in the liturgy.
On Saturday, November 22 the children did not simply ‘participate’: they ministered, they served, and they led us in worship with joy, sincerity, and reverence.
From the uplifting voices of the children’s choir to the confident proclamation of the readings and psalm, to their cheerful service in taking up the collections, the children showed us what Jesus meant when He said, “Let the little children come to me.”
Their presence brought a freshness and purity to the Mass, reminding us that the Kingdom of God belongs to those who have hearts like theirs—simple, trusting, and full of wonder.
A special word of appreciation must go to Ada Layne, Deneisha Julien and Ellison Tobas, whose patient training, encouragement, and dedication were clearly reflected in how beautifully the children sang and served. Their ministry shows that when adults invest time and love in our young people, the whole parish community reaps the fruits.
The Mass was not just a performance, it was a moment of formation, planting seeds of faith that will grow in the hearts of our children for years to come. It was also a moment of inspiration for all of us. The children reminded us that worship is at its best when it is done with enthusiasm, innocence, and a spirit of joy.
May we continue to nurture our young ones, giving them opportunities to grow in faith and service, and may our parish always be a home where children feel welcome, valued, and celebrated.
