Seminary Dinner: Echoes of Hope

The Regional Seminary of St John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs hosted its annual gala dinner on November 14 at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya, Tunapuna. This year’s event, titled ‘Echoes of Hope’, was especially meaningful as it marked the 25th anniversary of the event.

Rector of the Seminary, Fr Jason Boatswain, reminded the gathering of the essential connection between the Seminary and the wider Church community, emphasising the shared responsibility in nurturing vocations.

Fr Boatswain took a moment to honour Cecilia Look Kong, acknowledging her as the driving force behind the very first fundraiser, an event which has now become a cornerstone of the Seminary’s financial support.

Guests enjoyed an evening of musical performances, as the seminarians brought both skill and spirit to the stage, and the Fire Service Band kept the atmosphere lively, drawing many out of their seats. Closing off the night, Parang group, Los Sonidos delivered a mix of traditional and Soca Parang, lifting the room with festive rhythms. —Barry Cedeno
