Junior Parang Festival 2025

Students from primary and secondary schools faced off November 15 and 16 in the Junior Parang Festival 2025, hosted by the National Parang Association of Trinidad and Tobago (NPATT). Some 25 primary and 15 secondary schools vied for top honours at El Dorado East Secondary School. Themed Somos Un Solo Pueblo (‛We are one village’), this year’s event continued in the mission of preserving and promoting Parang among the nation’s youth.

Prizes were presented to winners for best band in both primary and secondary groups, best icon presentation, best lead singer, best lead instrumentalist, best box bass, best cuatro, and best maracs. In addition, there was a People’s Choice prize. Photographer Gerard-Paul Wanliss captured some of the performances from Catholic primary and secondary schools.
