“And when you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened.”
Luke 21: 5 – 19
At present, in the Caribbean Sea, there are war ships. Therefore, there are rumours of war. There have been earthquakes, hurricanes, and other fearful sights. Yes, the people are frightened, traumatized and tense.
Sometimes we do not recognize the moral crisis and spiritual conflict of the times in which we live, until something “shakes us up” to the reality of this present condition. God extends grace and mercy to all who heed his call and his warning.
In times of distress we cry out, ‘Help us, Lord our God, save us because of your love.’ Jesus says, “This is something that must happen, but the end is not so soon.” We cannot prevent the events that happen because they are part of God’s plan. However, we can pray and remain faithful to Jesus. We can stand firm in faith and be hopeful. Endurance never gives up hope in God. It is an essential strength which God gives to those who put their trust in God.
We pray for courage in times of suffering.
