The Mandeville Art & Craft Fair is the main annual fundraiser for the Diocese of Mandeville, and 2025 marks the 32nd staging of the event. Running from November 13–15, this year’s event will return to Mercy Hall at Mount Saint Joseph Prep School on Manchester Road. “This year, we expect to display close to 500 original works of art for sale. We are especially proud that Jamaican artists who are newly on the scene, and those who are household names, stand side-by-side to show their works,” stated a Catholic Opinion Online article.
It reported that with works from a wide variety of styles and media, “there is something for every taste and every budget.” Opening night takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 13. The evening will also highlight the presentation of the Julia Lyn Memorial Scholarship, which supports a talented student from the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts.
More than just admission, each ticket is a contribution toward vital diocesan charities. The exhibition continues Friday, November 14, free of charge to the public. On this day, high school students, particularly those with an interest in a career in art, are invited to view the display.
The fair continues Saturday, November 15, with its lively Craft Fair & Family Fun Day.
Since its launch in 1991 by Bishop Paul M Boyle and his circle of friends, the Mandeville Art Fair has remained rooted in service. Proceeds support diocesan charities across Manchester, Clarendon, and St Elizabeth, funding its schools, health clinics, housing ministries, homework centres, Mustard Seed Communities, and the St John Bosco Career Institute.
