Tuesday November 4th: Hearts set aflame

“Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.”

Luke 14:15-24

Yes indeed! Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God, but woe to those who are lukewarm for they shall be spat out from the mouth of God! Often, there is a vast disparity between those who have had a first powerful encounter with God versus those who have been in the Church for many years; and those of other Christian persuasions seem more on fire for God than many within the bosom of the Church.
Jesus revealed to St. Faustina that lukewarm souls caused the most dreadful loathing during His agony in the garden and inflict the most painful wounds.
The gospel of salvation seems to have been replaced by the ‘gospel’ of hedonism, snuffing out the light of faith and fear of the Lord in many hearts.
Most compassionate Jesus, have mercy on indifferent and lukewarm souls, may the fire of Your pure love set aflame the hearts of mankind drawing us back to You, away from the abyss of eternal damnation. Amen
